Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter In Molten Gold: Review

Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter swatch

Maybelline has always been one of my favorite drugstore brands. Recently, Maybelline has launched a range of new beauty products. I, too, purchased a few products from their new range. So, in next few posts, I’ll be reviewing all these products one by one and will share my opinion with you all. If you’re looking forward to it, please stay tuned 🙂

In today’s post, I’m sharing my thoughts on the new Highlighter from Maybelline:   “Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter” in shade “Molten Gold”.

Price: $9.99
Quantity: 0.24oz

According to Maybelline:

This FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter is infused with metallic pigments that create a reflective finish.

Benefits:
• Heat up your look with a warm metallic sheen
• Infused with reflective pigments that give a bold glow
• Apply lightly for a subtle glow, or build up application for a bold melted metal look
• Soft powder formula allows for seamless application

Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter Review

Review:

Its a champagne gold highlighter with peach undertone. It is intensely pigmented. The formula feels very high-end. It has that golden shimmer in it (not the unflattering chunky glitter). The texture is very soft and buttery and not chalky or flaky at all.

When I first wore this highlighter on my face, first thing, it didn’t go very well with my skin tone (my skin tone is in between fair to very fair). Secondly, even though it has a very smooth texture, and it blended nicely on my arms/hands, it took some time to set on my facial skin. But once it was set, it looked radiant with a slight tone difference!

So finally, in my opinion, according to the drugstore standards, the quality you are getting in this price, you can definitely count this highlighter as one of your top 5 best drugstore highlighters, but sadly, its not for everyone and every skin tone!

Lemme know in the comment section, if you’ve already tried this one. I’d love to hear from you 🙂

Have a happy weekend! See you soon in the next post 🙂

Until then…

  1. The champagne-gold shade both sounds and looks really beautiful – perfect for keeping subtle, or equally building gradually for a more intense look, as you’ve mentioned! 🙂
