Review: Sephora Collection Almond Foot Mask

I am not a very patient person when it comes to sit in the beauty salons for hours and hours to get pampered. I like to do things on my own pace. That’s why when it comes to self-care, I like to take care of myself on regular basis.

Generally, I keep my hands and feet well moisturized most of the time. But sometimes, in harsh weather conditions even the moisturization on regular basis won’t help much! Therefore using a good hand and/or foot mask once in a while wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. What say?

I used a peeling foot mask once, last year (a peeling foot mask where your foot skin starts peeling after 2-3 days of using the mask). The result was good though, the peeling (of skin) process was a little gross to me! So I was little cautious this time whatsoever.

During my search for “not-so-crazy” foot mask, I came across to this ‘Almond foot mask’ from Sephora collection. Its a disposable sock mask soaked in rich formulas to deliver maximum result in 20 minutes. It has active ingredients to nourish the feet that comforts and nourishes dry feet and softens rough areas with almond extract.

The packaging of the actual product is really nice, it doesn’t leak and is super easy to put on/use. Smell is very soothing and pleasant, not too strong. The mask also wasn’t uncomfortable at all. There was no fuss or mess. It definitely moisturized my dry feet well and left them soft and refreshed. However, it won’t fix very dry, callous or cracked heels but it will soothe them. I recommend using this and then a pumice stone to get the ultimate soft feet. The price is $5 (USD) for one pair.

You just have to put the socks (mask) on clean, dry feet and leave socks on for 20 minutes (preferably) or more. After removing the socks, you need to gently massage the excess product into the skin. It doesn’t need any rinse.

(Before using this mask: I stopped moisturizing my feet for three full days, so that I could get the appearance of that dry flaky heels and see the difference after using it.)

Today is the third day after the mask’ing and my feet still feel softer and smooth (Even when I didn’t moisturize them for two full days!)

So thumbs up from my side. I would definitely re-purchase this mask to get that instant luxurious home-spa foot treatment. How about you? Have you tried this foot mask yet? If yes, please share your experience. 🙂

See you soon in the next post. 🙂

Review : Eyeko London Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner

This is not my first time trying a liquid eyeliner like this. I’ve used one from L’oreal few years back and didn’t like it at all. Since then I decided to stick to gel liners only. But this one, definitely has changed my perspective!

Eyeko London Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner

Hello everyone. Isn’t it crazy that we’re in second month of 2017 already! Or its just me 😀 . Anyways in today’s post I am sharing my thoughts on the eyeliner that I recently came across. If you too haven’t heard about this product or brand before, please continue reading to enhance your knowledge 😉

I received this item as a sample from Ulta, previous month. Honestly, until now I didn’t even know this brand exists. But I am so glad I finally came across this product! (It is not a sponsored post.)

I am using this eyeliner from a month now, and I am all ready to share my thoughts on this product.

First thing, those who didn’t know about this brand before, ‘Eyeko’ is a British brand. It is the go-to brand for the eyes only. That means this brand doesn’t sell any other beauty products except the products related to eyes.

I love winged eyeliners, but honestly they’re not easy to draw, as you may know. I absolutely love the staying power of this liner and also it is easy to apply. The tip of eyeliner is slightly thicker, which is perfect for both simple or bold liner looks. Also the tip of the liner is sturdy, which I think is a plus, because it helps drawing a perfect clean wing at the outer edge of the eye. So I’d say it is definitely a good choice for beginners, who are still struggling to get that clean-edged wing. The color I received is ‘carbon black’.

Features that I’ve liked so far:

* This dries fast.

* Easy to use and flows very nicely.

*Doesn’t smudge.

*Water resistant.

* Long lasting.

Plus, the brand claims that this product has ‘WIDELASH’ feature to help eyelashes appear longer, fuller and stronger with up to 3 times more volume in just 15 days of regular use, which I am still exploring.

But I tell you this is the first ever product that I tried from this brand. So far I liked it very much and I’m looking forward to try their mascaras too.

Just let me know if you’ve already used one or any other product from this brand.  I’m so intrigued to try out their mascaras 😀

Happy Weekend y’all! 🙂

See you soon in the next post.
Until then…

Monthly Favorites

January Favorites

So this month basically, all I did, try to stick to the resolutions that I made for this year 😀 So far, so good, I’d say. Also, I tried a few new things this month that managed to be a part of my monthly favorite’s list. Without further ado let’s take a look at this month’s favorites.

Dior j’adore Eua De Parfum

First item in my favorites list is j’adore perfume from Dior. I got this perfume a little while back. What I like most about this perfume is that it has a subtle floral scent which feels very feminine and elegant. It’s a light fragrance. Not overpowering at all. I have many perfumes which I can wear only on some special occasions, but this one, I could wear on a regular day, which differentiates it from all other high end fragrances.

Viva La Juicy By Juicy Couture

I don’t have words to describe my love for this fragrance. I’ll just say that this is one of my top 10 favorite fragrances. Its a floral scent, more on the warmer side. I’m officially on second bottle of this perfume.

It’s such a lovely scent that smells so sophisticated and sensual at the same time. Whenever I feel j’adore is little too light for me (if i want to wear it on some special occasion) I just combine it with viva la juicy and the result I get is absolute mesmerizing.

Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Masque

This hair mask is absolute wonder. This is the best deep conditioner I have ever used. This dry weather is equally harmful for hairs too. This mask keeps my hair well moisturized. It smells wonderful and for me It is worth every penny.

Origins Drink Up 10 Minute Mask To Quench Skin’s Thirst

I have used Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask from the same brand (origins) recently. And I absolutely loved it. This particular mask I’d say is a short-period version of that overnight mask. If you don’t like wearing masks while sleeping, you can always try this one. I’m totally obsessed with this mask. I get best results if I apply this mask right after steaming my face.

Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It

Honestly, I am not an avid reader. But I like to read good inspirational/motivational books here and there.

This book that I’ve recently finished reading is a short and very simple book. The basic idea in this book is that you repeat “I love myself” over and over in your head as a mantra. When I say repeat “I love myself” over and over that doesn’t mean being selfish or putting yourself in your own world and forget about everyone else you love. It’s about showing love to everything and everyone around you…by loving you first! I loved reading this book and tried implementing the idea and definitely saw the difference 🙂

Can you suggest any good reads that you loved recently?

And how did you spent this month? Tried anything new? Would love to know everything 🙂

Happy weekend y’all. See you soon in next post.

REVIEW: Vichy Ideal Body Serum-Milk

Today’s post is a quick one regarding ‘Vichy Body Serum Milk’. This is my first ever Vichy buy. Its been a while that I’ve been using this product and so far I like it. Let’s take a closer look at this product.

The serum-milk formula claims to provide 48 hour hydration with a lightweight texture that melts effortlessly into the skin. It is formulated with ‘mother-of-pearl particles’ to supposedly enhance the look of the skin. It also contains nourishing conditioning oils which moisturize and firms the skin. Vichy’s Ideal Body Serum-Milk was made with sensitive skin in mind.

The texture is light. It liquifies like a serum but has a milky (peachy) color to it. It’s not sticky, thus absorbs quickly. Also, this lotion contains very light shimmer particles.

Vichy Ideal Body Serum-Milk has a subtle vanilla scent with floral and musk undertones. Honestly speaking I’m not very much impressed by the way it smells. It’s not bad, but its not very pleasant too. But its not that a big deal as this smell doesn’t stay for long. It fades very quickly after the application. The price for 400ml bottle is 29 USD.

I give this product a 4.5 rating because I’d prefer no scent but I love that it has so many great ingredients for body care and I didn’t break out at all. I noticed a difference in my skin after only a few days and I would definitely recommend this. 🙂

Did you already use this one? What are your thought on this product? Would love to know.

See you soon in the next post. 🙂
Until then…

Happy Lohri

‘Lohri’, as many of you may know, is one of the grand and joyous festivals of north India, especially Punjab.  I was born and raised in Punjab. So this festival is very near to my heart 🙂 . Lohri, basically marks the beginning of New year in India. On this occasion people wish each other abundance of joy and prosperity.

In Punjab, people have an upscale Lohri parties for newlyweds or firstborns in the family. The first Lohri of a bride is said to be extremely important. Also the first Lohri of a newborn baby, whether a girl or a boy, is celebrated with great enthusiasm.

People dress up in new clothes on Lohri night, generally in traditional ethnic wear.

In Punjab, a week before Lohri, children go from door to door singing folk songs in praise of ‘Dulha Bhatti’ and ask for munchies.

Dulha Bhatti was the Punjabi version of Robin Hood, who back in the old days, used to rob from the rich and help the poor, and rescue poor Punjabi girls being taken forcibly to be sold in slave markets.

These children are then given sweets and savories, and money as well. Turning them back empty-handed is regarded inauspicious.

‘Bonfire’ is the key feature of this festival. After the sunset, huge bonfires are lit in the front yards of houses and people gather around it, sing folk songs and throw puffed rice, popcorn and other munchies into the fire.

Belarus Ivan Kupala Day

After singing the prayers around the bonfire, people dance and sing to the beats of the ‘Dhol’ (drum like instrument). They perform the traditional dance which is called ‘Bhangra’. People in Punjab also eat their traditional cuisine this day, which is ‘Sarson ka saag’ with ‘Makki di roti’.

I love this festival. Actually I love almost every festival 😀 But honestly, being a ‘Punjabi girl’, the festival of Lohri gives me a chance to dress up in my traditional ethnic attire 😉 and who doesn’t love that?

Wish you all a very Happy Lohri 🙂

See you soon.

Style And Changing Body Shape

We all know that our bodies do not look same what they used to look 10 years ago, specially after a certain age. Fitness gets hard with aging. No matter how much we try to stay loyal to our fitness routine, it is not always easy to maintain a certain weight or shape.

There are always few parts of our bodies we don’t like to flaunt and want to hide them away under the loose fit clothes. All that because of the continuous changing body shape. And trust me, its absolutely natural and happens to almost everyone, specially the women who are on a weight-loss journey, those who are impacted by motherhood and others who just seem to fluctuate!

However in such situations I still want to stay in style and make it work. Thus, keeping all these things in mind, I’m sharing few tips and tricks, in today’s post, regarding how to stay stylish with changing body shape that may help you to re-think before planning your outfit of the day! 🙂

Fit is the most important thing. You could have the trendiest, most expensive outfit in the world—but if it doesn’t fit you properly, you’re not going to look stylish, and all your effort and money would have been wasted. The biggest mistake women make is wearing clothes that don’t fit because they don’t accept the body they have right now.  You have to accept yourself in order to figure out what looks good on you right now!

Different Body Shapes

Also, if you already not know your actual bodyshape, find it out in above chart.

For me, style & comfort go hand by hand. I think every person has a different definition for comfort. Some of us feel comfortable wearing sneakers, others just can not go out without heels. Same applies in clothing too.
But whatever you do, make sure you’re comfortable in your entire outfit. Because if you’re not comfortable with what you’re wearing, you’ll not feel confident whatsoever! And ‘confidence’ is the key factor to feel and look stylish.

By ‘support’ I mean to wear good quality good fitted underwear: bra, panty or even spanks! When you will be well supported, your clothing will sit on your frame in the most flattering way. Know your best fit in this area too. If you will compromise in this department, all the other efforts will go waste!

Underwear Styles

It’s important to know the right time to play with the trends. Your outfit is not simply a thing with a certain aesthetic appeal; it’s a form of self-expression.

On the other hand, the classic pieces will always look stylish no matter how a person’s body changes. Wearing simple looks like a button-down shirt with a well fitted pair of jeans and a stylish pair of shoes (pumps, flats or sneakers) will always look good in all situations!

This is the most important step so far. Go through all your wardrobe thoroughly once every month. Check what doesn’t look good on you currently. Pull out every uncomfortable piece of clothing you own, bag it up, and stuff it somewhere else for this month. You’re not throwing it away, you’re just getting it out of your sight so you can focus on those clothes you actually would look good in, according to your current need. Try to do this every month and trust me doing this will really help you!

In last, don’t forget to add that dash of ‘Swag’. Be it a pair of heels, or the perfect accessories (a bag, scarf or statement piece of jewelry). Seemingly tiny tricks can totally change your looks. For example, something as simple as looping your belt in a certain way or tucking your shirt in, can have a huge impact on your style. Adding a little swag to your entire outfit will keep you stylish even when your body is changing. 🙂

With all these tips and tricks I wish you all a very Happy New Year once again 🙂

Have a great weekend. See you soon in the next post.

Until then…

Monthly Favorites

Can’t believe its the end of 2016 already! 😀

It’s the last week of this year and so as this post (I mean… last post of the year 😉 ).

Since its end of the month, so this post has to be my this month’s favorites.

For me It was a great month for monthly favorites and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Soap & Glory Scrub Of Your Life

Body scrubs are such an important part of my winter skincare. Skin gets more flaky during this season. So I prefer to use a good quality body scrub once or twice a week for silky smoothness.

I tried this scrub for the first time and I really liked it!

This scrub is a mixture of tiny pink beads and colourless grains in a thick, clear and colourless gel. The fine scrubby particles are great at getting rid of dead skin cells. Every time I use this scrub, my skin feels so smooth and clean.

Nivea In-shower Body Lotion

This is not the first time I’m using this product.

If you haven’t heard or tried this product before, basically what you do is you apply this lotion while you’re in the shower (of course after the shower gel) and you rinse it off before you get out. It moisturizes your body so you don’t need to apply an additional body moisturizer afterwards.

This saves a lot of time, as we all know that moisturizing, sometimes, can be a bit of a pain. Honestly I never enjoy the process of body moisturizing.  Either I get really hot or really cold after a shower and all I want to do is to get out of the bathroom and put my clothes on 😀 This means I often skip the part to moisturize! But trust me this never happens as long as I’m using in-shower lotions.

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser

I don’t like using the cream cleansers always as I find they don’t always leave my skin as clean feeling as I’d like! But to be honest cream based cleansers are kind of essential for my face specially during this season. Reason, they are excellent for those with skin that tends to be dry during the cold season. Also the cream formulas are generally quite gentle.

I used this one for the first time and liked it so far because this cream cleanser  leaves my face not only clean, but soft as well. Although it wouldn’t stop me from using a moisturizer after cleansing. This cleanser does seem like it adds a bit of hydration to my skin.

Mario Badescu Rose Hip Oil

Rose hip oil is said to be full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are known to correct dark spots and hydrate dry, itchy skin, all while reducing scars and fine lines.

As my skin’s getting older, I am noticing increased hyper pigmentation, specially on my facial skin. Since I heard a lot about the benefits of rose hip oil (in this area) so I decided to give it a try.

When I first started using this product, I had some breakouts and I immediately decided to stop using it. But after few weeks I thought to give it another try (since I spent $22 on this tiny bottle and didn’t want to toss it away just like that!). So what I did I started using it only around my mouth area (where the most hyper pigmentation is), and after few days I actually noticed a little improvement everyday!

Long story short, I figured this product reacted to my skin initially because my skin is a little sensitive. According to the usage instructions, they recommend to apply this oil 2 times a day, which of course was a little too much for my skin so I’ve started using this oil  once a day now, preferably in my night time skin care routine. And it works for me!

E45 Repair and protect overnight hand creme

This E45 Repair & Protect Overnight hand cream is a winter savior and heal the cracked and ashy appearance of your hands that happens during the cold weather.

It’s quite light as a hand cream and it absorbs nicely, so no greasy hands, and it is a good dry skin treatment. It is scentless and has a silky texture. It really helps with dry hands! All I can say is I love this overnight hand treatment.

So, this was all in my this month’s favorites. Have you tried any of them?

What are your New Year Eve’s plans? Would love to know everything about it 🙂

I wish y’all a very Happy and Blissful New Year! See you  soon next year… umm… I mean in my next post 😀

Clinique Take It All Off Duo : Review

Hello Everyone.

Hope y’all are having good time with your loved ones during this holiday season.  I too, had a great time with my family back in India (the sole reason for being MIA for so long). 🙂

While I was on my vacation, I got many lovely comments on my various posts. I want to Thank all those who kept coming back to check and had left beautiful and kind comments. And I apologize to all those whom I couldn’t reply and they had to wait for so long!!

Anyways, before the trip, while I was on travel-related shopping splurge, the only thing on my mind was to look for ‘Travel-size (friendly)’ products. And luckily, I got a few of them. I’ll try to share my thoughts on each of them one by one.

Having that said, I am sharing my experience of this Duo pack by Clinique in today’s post, that I purchased from Sephora for the price of $10 (USD). This travel-sized duo pack comes with a black mascara, and a creamy cleansing balm for removing makeup.

This set contains:

• 0.14 oz High Impact Mascara in Black
• 0.50 oz Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

According to my knowledge, both of these products in the box are NOT from any of their (Clinique’s) new launch. They came independently, few years back, so many of you might have already used them. But this range; specifically the duo combination is not older than a year though. And I’m really glad that I found something like this! I loved everything about this duo pack, whether its the size of the products inside, its price or the product combination itself!!

Anyways, let’s move onto the reviews of both products without any further delay!

High Impact Mascara in Black:

I have only one thing to say about this mascara, “I just love it”! I don’t know why I didn’t find this mascara before?  I love wearing mascaras that add the perfect amount of volume to your lashes without giving them too much of drama. So far I wasn’t ready to try anything else but ‘ZoomFast Black Lash by Mac Cosmetics’. But this one, I tell you, is as good as the ‘Mac’ one. Plus the price I paid for this is totally negligible. Surely, its going to get a space in my vanity for long!

Up is the bare eye and Down is just one application of mascara.

Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm:

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is a fragrance free makeup cleansing balm which comes in a plastic tub. It starts off with a quite intense product when you first scoop it out of the tub. But as soon as it touches your hand, it turns almost silky in texture.

When massaged onto your face, it transforms into a fuss free oil.

I use this product as my makeup removing cleanser. I take this product as needed and massage it into my skin. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm almost instantly breaks down all my makeup. Once I can feel all my makeup has been broken down, I take a nice warm face cloth and wipe off the oily substance from my face- before rinsing my face.

However, it does break down the waterproof makeup, BUT… I do feel the need to use the micellar water or a makeup removing wipe after, specially around my eye area to completely clean the leftovers. The good thing about this product is it doesn’t really leave a greasy residue after cleansing.

Here, I just used the balm before adding any micellar water or wipe.

The one thing I would recommend is, try to keep your eyes closed throughout the washing process and try to rinse your face completely clean before opening them!

Last word: I’d just say one thing; that if you are the one who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup everyday, it is a very good Duo pack for you (size wise)! The quality is as good as the price. You won’t feel guilty of blocking your money with unfinished makeup.

On the other hand, it’s still not a bad option at all for all the makeup junkies, who can keep both of these small sized products inside their handbag for a fast clean up and/or a quick touch up. So I guess it’s a complete win-win!

I guess its all for today 🙂 On ending note, I want to wish you all a very Happy Holidays… May God fill your life with love, laughter and good luck! 🙂

See you all soon in the next post.

Until then…

Long Haul Travel Essentials

Hello everyone!

I am traveling to India within next few days and I am so so excited to celebrate this year’s Diwali there in india with my all my near and dear ones. (for those who don’t know; it’s a festival of lights and one of the most popularly celebrated festival all over the India).

Since its going to be a very long journey from USA to India, I thought of sharing few tips on “Long Haul Flight Survival”. Because, the truth is – no matter how excited we happen to be, its undeniable that flying takes a serious toll on our beauty/health, if we don’t take things in our hands.

As you all know the drill. Hydrate plenty while traveling! Yes, water is an in-flight essential. And the small cups they bring around during the food service are not enough. So its always a good idea to buy and bring your own water bottle before checking in the flight.

Beside staying well hydrated, there are few other things that I don’t forget to do and encourage others (family/friends) to keep those things in mind too. I bet all these suggestions will make your flying experience more pleasant if you decide to act on them.

1. Pre-Travel Prep

First thing first, I really put my focus on preparation before starting the journey. These are the things I like and suggest to do:

Create a Travel Essentials Bag

Get all your essential items in “travel size”, because they are TSA approved. For this reason, one thing that I like to do is, I like to save my samples (the beauty or skincare samples that I get from ulta/sephora) and like to use them during travel.

The goal here is to take a smaller bag full of In-flight essentials, which you can keep inside your carry on bag.

Do A Series Of Face Masks

It is really effective to do a series of moisturizing face masks few days before your travel. Reason, the environmental change inside the plane can make skin dull and dehydrated. Or you can do a mask in flight as well! Yes I’m talking about sleep mask. Use a product that will lock in moisture and provide a protective barrier against all of the recycled air. You can just put it on just before going to sleep and when you’ll wake up, your’ll feel your skin is all hydrated and refreshed.

Deep Condition Your Hair Preflight

The recycled air inside the plane is not only bad for the skin but harsh on the hairs as well. The lack of moisture in the cabin causes water levels in the hair to evaporate, which makes the hair look frizzy and dull. To keep hair soft, go through some deep conditioning hair treatments at home or salon before starting your journey. What I do for deep conditioning treatments is I slather on some conditioner, put the shower cap on, watch my favorite TV show for an hour or so, and then rinse it out.

2. Things You Can Do In Flight (During Travel)

Prefer No Makeup

This way your skin will get a break. It is best to skip foundation, eye makeup, and the rest of the stuff so that this stuff will not sit on your skin throughout your journey which can increase the risk of acne. Instead use a hydrating moisturizer and a light lip gloss.

Moisturize As Much As You Can

The best bet to combat the dry air in the plane is try switching your lotions (body and face) to creams, which are thicker and better to fight off the dry air. Try to use an unscented lotion because strong smells could make you, or your very close seat mate feel airsick.

Also, many people might not know that it is important to use a sunblock even while sitting inside the plane, as while flying, we are exposed to higher levels of radiation (UV rays) simply because plains are positioned closer to the sun for long periods of time when flying.

Also, don’t forget to moisturize your nostrils. A product like ‘Aquaphor’ can be applied to your nostrils to keep them moisturized.

Oral Hygiene

One of the biggest mistakes people make on a long flight is to ignore their oral hygiene. The change in air pressure dehydrates us, and a dry mouth doesn’t have as much bacteria-fighting saliva, as a result it leads to bad breath!

On the other hand, a clean mouth will not only make you feel fresher, but it can also help lets your body know that it’s time for sleep in the night, as a part of your home routine.

To keep it simple you can use products, such as ‘Colgate Wisp’ for quick mouth cleansing.

Feminine Hygiene

Don’t ignore your personal (feminine) hygiene. Carry a pack of feminine wipes and/or bathroom wipes. Bathroom wipes come in handy if you’re traveling or stop at a place where there is no toilet paper. You’ll thank yourself later that you brought these with you.

Be mindful About Your Clothing Choices

This step is the most important steps of all, I belive! Never think of wearing spanx (clothing item) during long hour travel. Tight clothing can restrict pelvic area air circulation. If sweat does not have an opportunity to evaporate, it can open the door for unwanted bacteria.

Also, pick an outfit which is comfortable first and trendy later. Trust me, because if there is any chance that there is long hours delay in your flight or connecting flight, all you’d think of being comfortable in those circumstances!

Wear Right Amount Of Fragrance

Try not to wear too much fragrance or too strong fragrance. It is almost as bad as not wearing any at all. Use mild deodorants and/or fragrance for preventing body odor, especially if you cannot shower right often and regularly. This will keep you feeling fresh and your seat mates will thank you too 😀

Stretch Out Your Neck

Stretch you neck muscles while you air travel. It really helps. Repeat this about every hour or two. You should get up at least once in every two hours and stretch your legs/body. You can either do it on your seat or can just take a walk, even if it’s a quick one towards the bathroom. It will encourage efficient blood circulation in your body while traveling.

Apply The Landing Makeup

Now this step is totally optional. They say, a fresh coat of red lipstick on your lips is an instant beauty boost. Just moisturize your lips before doing that.

And at last, have a positive mindset. A long plane ride can be a good opportunity to catch up on books and movies or to sleep, meditate, or write a business plan for your dream job. Just try to relax and enjoy your ride 🙂

I would love to know your thoughts and any suggestions on this post. With all this excitement, I wish you all a very happy, prosperous and safe Diwali. And a very happy and spooky Halloween! 😀

See you all soon in the next post.

Until then…
